The 2017 Toyota Tacoma is available in six distinct trim levels. Below, we take a look at each trim and the corresponding features:
The base Tacoma provides 16-inch steel wheels, a dark grille, four-way cloth seats, an Entune stereo that supports Bluetooth®*, a USB interface, a built-in GoPro camera mount, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Cruise control and remote keyless entry are only available as a package option.
The SR5 comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, satellite radio, privacy glass for the sliding rear window, remote keyless entry, smartphone-enabled navigation, Scout GPS app, Siri Eyes Free voice control, a 4.2-inch information screen, a charcoal-colored grille, 16-inch steel wheels, and fog lights.
The TRD Sport adds body-color fender flares and rear bumper, a 400-watt power outlet in the bed of the truck, a hood scoop, turn signals in the mirror housings, and navigation due to the Entune premium audio system’s 7-inch touchscreen.
The TRD Off-Road receives mostly the same equipment as the TRD Sport, knobby all-terrain tires, multiple terrain systems, Bilstein monotube shocks, crawl control, extra skid plates, textured black fender flares, a lockable rear differential, a chrome rear bumper, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road can both be equipped with other features such as automatic climate control, heated seats, a sunroof, blind-spot monitoring and more.
Drivers who choose the Limited will receive 18-inch wheels, body-color flares and rear bumper, leather-trimmed seats, and the equipment from the TRD Sport as well as the Off-Road upgrade package.
The top trim, the Tacoma TRD Pro, gains traction management, a black throwback grille, black headlight and taillight bezels, heated leather seats, 2.5-inch Fox internal bypass shocks, 16-inch knobby tires, a hood scoop, LED fog lights, and black textured fender flares.
As far as the engine goes, you can choose from a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 159 hp or a 3.5-liter V6 which produces 278 hp.
